Proper sailing ships for Minecraft. You craft a real vessel with a controllable sail, cargo hold, and (on most of them) cannons — then crew up with friends and cross the seas in style. Each ship comes in every wood type, so it'll match your build.
The four ships
| Ship | Toughness | Crew | Cargo | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brigg | Highest | 11 | Huge (162) | Warship / heavy hauler — 6 cannons and the biggest hold. |
| Cog | High | 5 | Big (108) | All-rounder for trade and escort — 4 cannons. |
| Galley | Medium | 9 | Medium (54) | Nimble Mediterranean galley — has oars for a speed boost, 2 cannons. |
| Drakkar | Medium | 11 | Medium (54) | Viking longship — no cannons but carries shields, rows fast, and breaks through ice. |
How to sail
- Build a ship from a boat (or chest-boat) + sails + leads, then right-click to board.
- Press R to raise/lower the sail; W/S change how much sail is out (faster ↔ slower).
- Right-click with a cannon to mount it on the deck, keep cannonballs in the hold, and fire with Space.
- Galley and Drakkar can row for extra speed; the Drakkar smashes through sea ice.
It's a beta
Small Ships is a polished but still-in-development mod, so expect the occasional rough edge while sailing.
